Job Description

Seeking a Senior technical Data Steward and IT professional that operates in one of the data governance knowledge areas, such as Data Quality analysis, MDM, metadata administration, data classification, data privacy, data security and data controls. Coordinating data steward who organizes and represents teams of business data stewards and data custodians in working group discussions across teams and with data owners. This role requires strong technical and data management skills and will pursue self-development and effective relationships with others by sharing resources, information and knowledge with co-workers and internal customers.

Key Accountabilities

  • Work with the business to establish rules, identify Critical Data Elements (CDEs), correct and troubleshoot data discrepancies within an application and/or document metadata in Collibra Metadata Management System.

  • Deliver on ad-hoc data management requests and seek opportunities for continuous process improvement.

  • Help establish a framework and coordinate a Data Governance Working Group with business data stewards.

  • Document on-going rules and methods of handling data discrepancies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • 5-7 Years experience in the use of data governance/management applications such as (Collibra, Informatica MDM and IDQ, etc)

  • 5-7 Years experience implementing and following data governance processes and procedures

  • 5-7 Years experience delivering on ad-hoc data requests

  • Comfortability working with and providing structure to ambiguity

  • Proven ability to work across departments to collaboratively resolve issues, drive issues to closure, achieve desired results/goals and or implement change as needed

  • Excellent communication skills with respect to both technical and non-technical audiences at various levels of the organization

  • Prior experience working with and training business data stewards a plus

  • Champions and ensures that data governance policies and initiatives are adhered to

  • Facilitates the process of resolving data related issues

  • Has a solid understanding of development best practices and reading SQL queries (preferred)

  • Proficient in MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Experience working in Banking and/or Financial Services is preferred

  • Passionate about learning new technologies and solving hard problems in a fast-paced environment

  • Must be self-directed and have excellent initiative and organization skills

  • Proven track record of meeting commitments with the highest standards of ethics and integrity

  • Experience with Egnyte is preferred but not required.
