About the Role:
As a CBRE Union Helper, you will perform non-technical general building maintenance, light custodial, and minor repair duties.
This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform general labor work as assigned including loading, unloading, and moving materials.
- Maintain lighting systems throughout the facility, cleaning fixtures and replacing bulbs and lamps. Maintain grounds of the facility or property by performing such tasks as raking, sweeping, leaf blowing, or snow removal.
- Patrol grounds, communal areas, and parking facilities. Identify and report maintenance hazards or other property condition concerns. Run errands to support projects.
- Perform housekeeping functions and maintain the professional appearance of the property, equipment, engineering spaces, and communal areas. Paint and patch drywall. Perform other minor repairs under supervision.
- Facilitate office access and office moves by moving crates, assembling furniture, office keys, nameplates, etc.
- Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
- Prepare meetings and conference rooms, arranging tables and chairs as requested.
- May set up audio and visual equipment, flip charts, and TVs within conference rooms and pick them up when completed.
- Follow a set procedure in the performance of repetitive tasks or job activities.
- Impact through methods, tasks, and duties which are clearly defined and followed with little to no discretion.
What You’ll Need:
- High School Diploma, GED, or currently enrolled in a 2 or 4-year college program or technical school.
- May require a valid driver's license.
- Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

- Ability to develop skills to perform basic activities in own job.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
- Simple math skills. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
